MHS's Beauty and the Beast!

Oh my word how I love Beauty and the Beast!  So when I heard that Mesa High was doing it the year after I left I seriously considered becoming a super senior for about 2 seconds to be Belle...but then I decided it wouldn't be worth it :)  But I definitely had to come back and see my lovely friends in this wonderful production.  It was fabulous!  I wanted to jump on the stage and dance and sing with them.  I'm so glad I was able to come down!

Sarah Merkley went to the Matinee and the Saturday Night showing with me.

I love this girl!!

We definitely got ninjas out of a vending machine right before we came because we are epic.

At the end of "Be Our Guest" on each side of the stage they pulled popper thingies that shot out streamers and confetti.  I was sitting in the front row both times so I got covered!  It was cute to see the little kids all run up during intermission and pick up all the pieces and run around and throw it at each other :)  I joined in of course!

Hamilton Crockett!  What a stud.  I miss this guy!

Joseph Speakman played the Beast and he was AMAZING, I bet I couldn't even tell you how stellar he was!  But of course I wasn't surprised, I already knew he would be!

My good friend Keir was Lumiere and he was fabulous!  What a funny guy :)

And of course we had to get a picture with the hunky Gaston!

Two of my favorite audience dwellers :)

Nick Anderson played Lafou.  He fit the part perfectly!

And of course Belle!  She was played by friend Katie, good name for a lead right?  She was a fabulous Belle and I loved her acting so much!

What an amazing show!!!

Plasma Center

The Plasma Center and I aren't exactly friends...

My arm was infiltrated both times when I went to the Plasma Center, so now I have an awesome bruise!  The first time I was put with a brand new nurse that made my arm swell up and then they started freakin' out and then I passed out :)  Lets just say it was some good times!

Connecticut and NYC with Jaimie!

So this past weekend I was talking to Jaimie on skype and she wanted me to come visit her in CT this coming weekend but I had a Choir Concert and stuff going on so it just wouldn't work out!  So when that idea fell through I jokingly said, "Well it would work if I hopped on a plane tomorrow!"  To which Jaimie replied, "Ok!"  And we just went from there :)  Jaimie bought my ticket friday morning and I was in a car 2 hours later down to the airport.  I jumped on a plane and was on my way!  It was a short trip and I came back to AZ on Monday, but it was SO worth it!  It was a fun little jam-packed weekend with one of my favorite people :)

Celebrity Sighting!!  At the Wax Museum...

Don't fall in Jaims!

We are cool with our Hipster Shades.

Saturday Night we hit the play Memphis :)

Me on Times Square!

Why are we so gangsta?

No NYC trip is complete without a yummy street vender gyro.

It was freakishly yummy!

We were very tired on the way home...

I love my sister!

What a fun and unexpected weekend! :)

AMEA Festival

So over the past weekend my choir up here at NAU, Women's Chorale, was asked to perform at a festival down in Mesa.  It was super fun!  We got a lot of compliments and we had TWO standing ovations.  It was great to perform with my choir, but another super big perk was that I got a free ride home out of the ordeal as well :)

Here are a couple of the songs...

All I Was Doing Was Breathing is definitely an interesting song, but I grew to love it!  It was crazy and fun and odd...But that's how a lot of things up here in Flag are so it was great!

Me, Baylee, and Stephanie doing our Krishna poses.

Our choir!  I promise we are normal, but we were just gettin' in the mood.

All in all it was a great weekend of lovliness :)  It was a lot of work heading up to that point, but it was definitely worth it!

Special Juice

Towards the end of the year when the Christmas Holidays were starting to go into full gear, my sister Rebecca and I decided to do a sugar free challenge!  It really made me realize how much JUNK we eat during the holidays just because it's there.  And although I have had random urges for peanutbutter-oreo icecream, it's strange how sugar is not appealing AT ALL.  It's kinda nice!

So while I'm on this no sugar kick my roommates and I have been experimenting with no sugar snacks and treats!  So we decided to try lemonade with Agave (a sugar substitute).  Ummm.  Let's just say it was interesting and kinda tasted like a cough drop!  So I just started dumping fruit in it and then stuck it in the fridge and pulled it out this morning and...IT WAS REALLY GOOD!  Why am I so gangster?

Here are some lovely pictures.

Yes, I know it looks nasty, but looks can be deceiving ;)

Rachel Ward is an expert juicer.

6 Lemons
1 Kiwi
1 Banana
1 gala apple
~ 5 squirts of agave
4-5 cups of water
(all the seeds that you see at the bottom...those are definitely optional)

Boo ya.  I love accidental moments of geniousness.

Citrus Faces

You know how you carve pumpkins in the Fall?  Well in the Spring time, Mesa has TONS of citrus.  So one day when I was with my friend Adam Thurber, I decided that we should carve our lemons and grapefruit and oranges :)

The Sour Lemon

Adam's Smiley Face :)

My Harry Potter Orange fell apart...but he was magical!

Adam's Harry Potter Orange, cause he's a copy cat, and cause Harry Potter is da bomb.

My French Grapefruit, complete with beret!

It turned out to be SUPER fun and I loved the random aspect along with the creativity and hanging out with one of my best friends!

Oh the creativity :)

Oh the things we do on the weekends!  We decided that it sounded like fun to slide down the stairs in/on a sleeping bag, and it actually was super awesome!  You should all try it some time.  But make sure you have cushions at the bottom of the stairs...

Michelle Rogers takin' the bag for a spin.

And of course I had to try it out!

Super fun!  The thing about living in a smaller town is we now become more creative with our resources.

What are some random crazy ideas you've done on the weekends while chillaxin at home?

Goin' Down to Hippie Town

Goin' Down to Hippie Town (aka Flagstaff)

Well hello. I've decided to start a blog to kinda be a up-to-dater for friends and fam away from me so that you can still see the craziness that's goin' on in my life! And so I thought the first blog post (although it may be a semester late) should be about my lovely new home, Flagstaff! Northern Arizona is the bomb, I love school and I LOVE studying music. I honestly didn't know that I would find every single one of my classes so interesting, but I sure do!

Louie the Lumberjack and I are pals :)

Boo ya! Performing Arts.
I also thought I would hate the snow, but another surprise to me, I love it! And although my heart does long for sunny Mesa some days, I know I'm heading in the right direction. So wish me luck! I'll probably need it in Hippie Town ;)
